COOPERATIVE LEARNING

Cooperative Learning is a successful teaching strategy where students gather in small teams. In the teams, students are grouped together according to different levels of ability. In the groups, students are assigned different learning activities to improve their understanding of a particular subject. For the activity, students are responsible for learning what is taught and for helping others in their group learn by teaching them. Students work through their activity until each student’s part is completed, and the student and their group understand and complete the assignment successfully. This type of learning creates an atmosphere of achievement for students.

In my opinion Cooperative Learning is a great tool for teachers to use in the classroom. Students become engage in learning, while working together in a group collaborating to complete an activity. Cooperative learning is a great way for students to learn from each other, share ideas, and gain new ideas! Cooperative learning is something I plan on using one day in my own classroom!
